Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) players wore black bandages over their mouths before their match against Colombe Sportive in abit to silently protest against sanctions from FECAFOOT’s homologation and disciplinary commission
As part of the sanctions, the club was deducted 3 points, fined 1,000,000 FCFA, YOSA player Hamidou Hamza and four other team officials handed a four-match ban for indiscipline1.
The decision put YOSA’s championship hopes at stake falling to seven points and dropping from second to sixth in the playoff rankings before the final matchday
As a result, players from the club matched into the pitch with black bandages across their mouths during their last playoff game against Colombe Sportive to send a message to FECAFOOT’s homologation and disciplinary commission
Also, their message was also visible in the stands where some supporters could clearly be seen carrying placards with several messages

Another placard stated: FECAFOOT, Discrimination, Injustice, Marginalisation, Tribalism
Everything seemed set for the Bamenda top flight club to clinch the Elite title untill the sanctions came knocking
YOSA finished the championship in the sixth place with eight points
