The Trans Africa Investment Summit holding from the 9th to 11th of November, 2023 at Entebbe, Uganda is a summit highly targeted by high level executives, CEOs, managers, investors, trustees, exporters/importers as well as SMEs from various economic sectors.
It has as key goals, to facilitate investment and development cooperation among the African countries and the diaspora and to provide a physical networking platform to present, explore and sign up partnerships.
For the 3 days, the summit will be enriched by the following sessions among others: The opening ceremony with political leaders, sponsors, investors and cohosts; Keynote speaking sessions of projects and businesses of interest that require collaboration; The Renewable Energy Pavilion by the Uganda Solar Energy Association; Diaspora and Women Entrepreneurship Forum Africa sessions; Investment pitching session; Indoor exhibition; Awards ceremony; Tourism/site seeing session at the Entebbe Wildlife Education centre; Media session and a virtual session of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum Africa.
Looking into the Future is to replicate the different editions of the summit across Africa and the diaspora by her partners. Cameroon will co-host the summit on the 3rd day with South Africa as presented on the initial program according to Angélique Christele, the Women Economic Forum Africa (WEFA) Cameroon President, the Submit is an opportunity for businesspersons in Cameroon to get international partners and give businesses and NGO’s international visibility.
She went on to say that, there’s a 10% reduction of traveling cost for WEFA Members who wish to travel to Uganda for this Submit. She equally disclosed that as part of their vision to empower women in Cameroon, they wish every Cameroonian not limited to woman attendance this submit WEFA Cameroon has gone ahead to make the process of enrollment for this submit simple to give the opportunity.
Speaking to, Robinah Nanyunja, the President & Chair, Pilot International, she disclosed that themes of discussion in Uganda will include the following:
Destination Africa: Facilitation of the Diaspora for cooperation: Investment, Business establishments, Policies and Franchises. AFRICACORA digital solutions, capacity building of vendors and facilitating trade within and across Africa. Policy frame facilitating Trans Africa Trade.
Women Economic Forum (WEF): Organizing and facilitating Women led business chambers for cross border trade and aligning with the Global Business value Chains. Trans African, cross border and International trade.
Circular economy: recycling, waste to energy and research and Development.
Regional integration (EAC, SADC, ECOWAS): opportunities and challenges. Sustainability of African economies: Manufacturing and export.
Others, she went on, will include;
- Taping into the Pilot International Global Chamber of Businesses, investors and Project owners. Powering Africa with Renewable Energy, Smart Cities; agricultural value chains; Mining and Value addition; Oil and gas; E-governance and E-commerce; Financial inclusion and digital solutions; Green economy and technology solutions; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Human security, peace and sustainable development.
