The stage has been set for the convening of the second edition of the Festival de l’intelligence économique francophone, scheduled for November 2, at the Sofitel Mont Febe, Yaoundé. Officials of the African Center for Competitive Intelligence, via a press dinner held in Bastos Yaounde, on 25th October 2023, reassured the media practitioners of the Institution’s readiness to welcome the over thirty- eight participants from all over the world for the great event.
The 38 participants shall hold discussions around the theme; “Boosting the competitiveness of francophone territories”. With the slogan “Working together to win together,” the Festival de l’Intelligence économique francophone (FIEF) is the only annual meeting point for experts and enthusiasts of competitive and strategic intelligence, from across the globe, who have French in common.
This year’s participants will include locally elected representatives, economic decision-makers, researchers, operational staff, associations, and book and software publishers, the best of whom will receive awards from the organizing committee.
This year’s event will focus on five main themes: Understanding the challenges of Francophone territorial intelligence; Attracting public and private investors to Francophone territories; Retaining and developing investment in Francophone territories; Defending and promoting Francophone territories internationally; and Highlighting successful Francophone competitiveness models.
Addressing the press, Guy Gweth, Executive President of the African Center for Competitive Intelligence said; “The FIEF2023 (Festival de l’intelligence économique francophone) is organised in prelude to the 44th session of the Conference Ministérielle de la Francophonie, scheduled for 4 to 5 November 2023 in Yaoundé. Integrating culture and development, the founding fathers of La Francophonie were pioneering humanists. They laid the foundations of an area that has 900 million inhabitants spread today out over five continents, with a common cultural heritage of modernity, performance and solidarity.”
“Aligned with this heritage, Francophone economic operators are committed to assuming their role in driving the economic and social transformation sought by their populations, particularly in Africa,” He added.
“The participants shall collect, analyse, add value to the information gathered as well as make concrete recommendations to the decisions leaders of our various countries to boost their competitive intelligence productivity.
The heads of local collectives shall equally get these recommendations to render their areas more attractive and economically more viable in the through income generating activities. And at the end of the one day work session, members shall sum up their ideas in a white paper, to subsequent exploitation, «he said.
Since its creation in 2015, the ACCI monitors, 24/7, twelve key sectors of the African economy: aeronautics, agribusiness, insurance, automotive, banking, construction and public works, defence, education, energy, pharmaceuticals, raw materials, telecoms and AfCFTA.
