Buea based youth focused civil society organization, Bless Foundation sent out over 50 students in various vocational fields after successfully completing training, Saturday 9th March in Buea.
The participants who are also University students completed their 5 months courses in 9 departments including; Beads design, Satellite dish and solar installation, Pastry and cake, Graphic design, Nails design, Make up and eye lashes, and Microsoft.
The Director of Bless Foundation, Ngauteh Bless said the project was inspired by a passion to empower youths inorder to make them self sufficient and resilient.
They carried out these activity coping with challenges like accomodations, basic material for training, attitude of youths towards vocational skills, support from community and the ongoing socio-political instability, he intimated.
Vocational skills being a good source of income today, will serve as a lead to financial stability for the graduates. Njweng Mujem, who completed in Cake and Pastries said the training adds to her knowledge in cakes and pastries for more productivity in her growing business. She appreciated the affordability.
With a passion for project management, Nji Rene engaged to learn inorder to help his community solve it’s problems. “Project Management is one of the ways to solve many community problems because if you can’t identify a community issue, you can’t solve it.”
The Bless Foundation, is supported technically by the ministries of Youth Affairs and Civic Education and Women’s Empowerment and the Family. They have as vision to make a world where the underprivileged can identify their potentials, regain it and pick up challenges positively while building healthy, peaceful and dignified communities.
