Visually impaired Njukang Princely, level 300 student of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, JMC in the University of Buea is the Editor-in-chief of the recently published Matriculation edition of The Chariot Newspaper.
Njukang successfully assumed the post of responsibility for the 27th volume despite being visually impaired.
He navigated through following editorial decisions, editing assigned news stories until the layout of the paper.
Njukang was entrusted the task by the head of the JMC print unit, Dr Elempia Forcha because of his commitment.
“It’s an immense honor. This means a lot to my career” he said.
Njukang who is a passionate commentator on political issues and potential maximizing noted “the work was tedious. Editing stories to conform to some professional standards” as he had to work late in to the night in order to meet up with datelines.
The Chariot Newspaper is 12-page tabloid with a print run of 2,000 copies. It is one of the training arms of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, UB together with the The Chariot Radio, Chariot TV lab and the Communication Research Center.
