The second edition of International Banana-Plantain Festival will hold in the South West Region of Cameroon from November 30 to the 2nd of December 2023. The event is under the distinguished patronage of the Head of State, H.E Paul Biya and will unfold in the towns of Limbe, Buea and Bangem.
The Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute shall on behalf of the President of the Republic preside over the opening ceremony at the “Banana-Plantain Festival Investors’ Village” located on the outskirts of the Limbe Stadium.
This shall precede a historic encounter of the Indomitable Lions generation 2000, captained by Samuel Eto’o and the former Super Eagles of Nigeria captained by Jay Jay Okocha, and broadcast live on CRTV by 3:30 pm.
On the heels of the gala match, shall be the signing of an agreement, to incubate and finance young students from the Universities of Buea and Douala, people living near the PAD’s areas of influence and PAD employees in the Banana-Plantain Value Chain on one hand; and on the other hand export of fresh Banana-Plantain, its derived products and the import of inputs, materials, machines and agricultural equipment necessary to the actors of the BPSC for good yields and the improvement of their living conditions from the Autonomous Port of Douala.
Buea shall on Friday, 1st December witness the signing of agreements with investors to improve the competitiveness of the plantain value chain in the South-West Region and the living conditions of farmers at the Mountain Hotel in the presence of former Super Eagles and former Indomitable Lions.
The closing ceremony shall take place on Saturday, 2 December 2023 in Bangem, chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. All is set for this historic event in the South West Region of Cameroon.
