The week-long FENASSCO League A games for 2023 have been officially opened in Garoua. The yearly secondary school games was declared opened on Saturday July 29, by the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Pauline Nalova Lyonga.
The daily matches in Garoua and Gashiga in various sporting disciplines are sponsored by the Cameroon Telecommunications, Camtel. The Camtel flagship brand, Blue will be on display with free internet connection for live broadcast of the matches.
The gifts of the Central African telecommunications giant to this year’s competition range from a “special Camtel” to the best athlete in volleyball (in the men’s and women’s categories) to a special prize to the winners of the volleyball tournament in the men’s and women’s categories, they winners of the basketball tournament (men and women’s categories), winners of the football tournament (men and women’s categories), and a special “Blue Prize” to the three winners of the Chantal Biya Excellence Page Fenassco 2023.
The FENASSCO partnership this year with MINSEC is a fallout of July 11 agreement during a working visit of the Minister to the CAMTEL headquarters.
According to the general manager of CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, her institution is committed in helping the education system to follow the digital trends.
“Camtel is fully ready to support the Ministry of Secondary Education in the implementation of its major projects that they have embarked on, that is e-learning which will enable the educational community to access learning more easily using electronic tools,” Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi said.
The partnership which began in the 2022 edition of the games is described by the minister of Secondary Education as full of good surprises. She explained that the commitment of CAMTEL to the well-being of the students was proven and commendable.
