Workers in Cameroon join the world today May 01 to celebrate the 137th edition of the International Labour Day.
The day is a culmination of week-long activities organised by various private and public administrations and will be marked by Parades in all divisional head quaters of the country.
For the past three years, workers’ parades have been excluded from the international Labour day celebration in Cameroon. This followed the advent of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
Authorities explained that it was a means to favour the response strategy put in place by the government to combat the pandemic away from popular celebrations.
The 2023 Labour Day is commemorated under the theme, “Resilience and Decent Work: Acting Together in the World of Work to Improve Living Conditions and Social Inclusion”.
